On this Hokkaido drive, we strolled around Teshikaga Town, saw the drinking streets, and then took a road that had been reopened for the winter to Lake Mashu No. 3 Observation Deck, then headed straight for Wakoto Peninsula. When I was little, I used to go to Kawayu Onsen every year for New Year's parties at my parents' company. The large hot spring inns that were popular back then are gradually disappearing, and looking at the current situation makes me feel sad. I think that if they stopped trying to make luxury hotels and inns larger, and instead created a quaint, hidden hot spring atmosphere throughout the town that makes use of the unique, highly acidic hot springs, it could still be revived, but what do you think, Hoshino Resorts? For the last hot spring, I had originally planned to take a dip in the open-air bath on Wakoto Peninsula, but I felt the presence of people around the open-air bath, so I headed to Kotan no Yu. Here too, at first, there were tourists wandering around the open-air bath, but when I returned home, I quickly took a bath. As is the case with the open-air baths on Wakoto Peninsula, these places are visited by many tourists who just come to look at the hot springs without taking a bath, so you need to be mentally strong to take a bath completely naked.
