The system is heavily geared towards intense, high pressure in order to win the ball back as quickly as possible and maintain control of it. The system flourishes because of how interchangable the players are. The wingers will often drift inside, creating positioning issues for the opposition full backs; whilst the centre midfielders will drift out wide regularly for the same reason. This method of movement either creates space or options depending on how the opposition react.
