Welcome to Part 4 of a five-part interview with jazz virtuoso Gonzalo Rubalcaba. Peiwen sat down with multi-Grammy award-winning jazz virtuoso Gonzalo Rubalcaba in his studio in Miami, Florida, for an in-depth conversation. He discussed his music education in Cuba, how he was discovered by Dizzy Gillespie and signed to Blue Note Records, how he has been influenced by Stravinsky and other classical music composers, and what goes through his mind as he improvises on the keyboard. In this fourth part of the interview, Gonzalo talks about how he improvises on the piano, which he lovingly calls his "girlfriend", and the dozens of albums he's produced over the years.
