Surrounded by misty hills and forests, it offers one of the most photogenic viewpoints in the country. 🥁 Hevisi Drums & Shabd Puja – Anuradhapura At the sacred Buddhist stupas of Anuradhapura, traditional Hevisi drumming and Shabd Puja (sound offerings) create a deeply spiritual atmosphere. The rhythmic drums, conch sounds and ceremonial music are performed as acts of devotion and respect at these ancient Buddhist monuments. 🌳 Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is believed to be the world’s oldest living human-planted tree with a recorded history spanning over 2,000 years. It is said to have grown from a sapling of the original Bodhi Tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment in India, making it one of the holiest sites for Buddhists worldwide. 🦷 Temple of the Tooth, Kandy The Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is among the most important Buddhist temples in the world. It is believed to house the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha, preserved within the temple complex for centuries. The relic has immense spiritual and historical significance and is deeply connected with Sri Lanka’s royal history and Buddhist heritage.
