The video begins with a simple, almost banal concern: nobody reads anymore, nobody watches anymore, nobody is truly moved by what they consume. We live surrounded by books, videos, music, films, series, sermons, content upon content being shoved into our souls every day. But, amidst so much on offer, it seems we've lost our appetite. There's too much food, but a lack of appetite. There's too much abundance, but a lack of meaning. And perhaps the problem isn't a lack of content, but the excess that has already made us lose the capacity to appreciate. Using Numbers 11, the video shows that not all abundance is a blessing. Sometimes, God gives what man so desires until it comes out of his nose, until it becomes disgusting, until it reveals that the problem was never a lack of flesh, but the leanness of the soul. The people had manna, they had God's daily care, but they despised the provision because they wanted more, they wanted something else, they wanted the idealized taste of Egypt. And then ungoverned desire becomes judgment: they receive what they asked for, but along with satisfaction comes sickness, boredom, emptiness, and a soul incapable of praise. The video also goes through Ecclesiastes to show that immeasurable abundance ends in weariness: the eyes are never satisfied with seeing, the ears never tire of hearing, and nothing seems new under the sun. Therefore, the biblical response is not to live in deprivation, as if God wanted a hungry and miserable soul, but to return to the path of moderation, gratitude, reverence, and rest. The soul needs a hiatus, silence, fasting, closing some doors to feel again. Because when everything enters all the time, nothing gets through; but when the blessing is received in the right measure, it generates satisfaction, praise, and the presence of God.
