Autoesporte's classic car section has just gained a revolutionary and controversial member: the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The project was born in 1982 with the aim of creating a practical car for the city. It was only in 1997 that the model reached European stores and, two years later, national production began in Juiz de Fora (MG). The little car was a sales success, but it had its controversies, mainly because of the famous moose test, which it failed and became known for easily rolling over. A huge recall followed.
