Ballerina Judge Fires at Defense After Daughter of Murder Victim is Called Out For Speaking to Media

Eva Benefield, the daughter of slain father Doug Benefield, was called up to the stand on Thursday morning after she was found talking to the media about the trial when she was allegedly under subpoena. Defense attorney Neil Taylor asked for Benefield to retrieve her phone after he found social media posts of her talking about the trial on TikTok. The judge fired back saying that it was a waste of time, and the state believed it was a violation of privacy. Douglas Benefield had several gunshot wounds to his leg, arm, and chest area. Ashley Benefield claims she shot him in self-defense after months of alleged abuse. She was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
