Torre de Moncorvo, is a Portuguese village, belonging to the district of Bragança, North Region and sub-region of Douro. It is the seat of the municipality of Torre de Moncorvo with an area of ​​531.56 km² and 8,572 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 13 parishes. The municipality is limited to the north by the municipalities of Vila Flor, Alfândega da Fé and Mogadouro, to the southeast by Freixo from Espada à Cinta, to the southwest by Vila Nova de Foz Côa and to the west by Carrazeda de Ansiães. Its Mother Church is one of the largest churches in Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. It is about 30 meters high. The county received a charter from D. Dinis in 1285.
