VLOG #7: SELECTION. PART ONE. In this video series, I will address a topic that, for me, is absolutely crucial: SELECTION. Much has been written or spoken about it, and I am well aware that it is a matter of individual choice. What I cannot agree with is when we reach extremes where the line between a good messenger and a mediocre one becomes blurred. In my loft, one that is well-honed to unimaginable limits, of everything bred there each year, approximately 5% are good pigeons. Perhaps another 5-10% are useful pigeons, those that will help you. Only by maintaining a very high level of demand and selection can we create or maintain a line of pigeons that is truly worthwhile. Time cannot soften us in that sense.
