Uma casa romântica na baixa do Porto | Senhora Dona Casa

There are houses that are much more than just four walls; they are true time capsules brimming with history, affection, and soulful architecture. In today's episode, we travel to downtown Porto to discover an absolutely unique apartment, faithful to the city's romantic period. This house has been in the same family since 1946 and carries a touching legacy: it was given to the family's grandmother by her father as soon as she finished high school, with a clear message of independence: so that she wouldn't have to depend on her husband. Because it wasn't the family's main residence—they are originally from Trás-os-Montes—this apartment served for decades as a support house to accommodate children, nephews, and grandchildren who came to study or visit Porto. Because of this, it also became the final destination for everyone's furniture and memories, creating a mix of pieces full of personality. Today, the space comes alive through Mr. Mário and Mrs. Ana, a lovely couple who, even in retirement, remain very active. For them, this apartment is the perfect headquarters for their daily commitments in Porto, before returning to Trás-os-Montes on weekends.
