Ultra Marathon: Ultra North 55KM

#UltraMarathon #Running #ultrarunning Last month I ran a 55KM Ultra Marathon in Newcastle and Gateshead. The race is called the Ultra North 55. https://www.ultranorth.co.uk/ This was my 2nd ever UltraMarathon and arguably my best effort to date. The first Ultra Marathon I ran was 75KM across St Cuthberts trail which can be seen here:    • My First Ultra Marathon - 75KM Running St ...   It was pretty brutal but I can safely say I fell into some similar traps this time around again! Strava details here:   / strava   THE ROUTE: Starting and finishing in Derwenthaugh Park, ULTRA 55 and TRAIL 25 participants will start their tour of the region just a short distance from Newcastle. ULTRA 55 participants will travel through Derwenthaugh Park until they reach the River Tyne, then following the south side of the river through Gateshead to the farthest eastern point of the route, where runners cross the Tyne using the Millenium Bridge. Participants then travel west on the north side of the river, using the Hadrians Way and Wylam Wagon Way arriving in Wylam. Then heading south and east participants will cross from the Tyne Valley through Chopwell Woods back into the Derwent Valley, then using the Derwent Walk participants will make their way east to reach the finish line. Shoes: Nike Pegasus 38 Turbo Pack: Salomon Active Skin 8 with Flasks Filming: I pretty much self filmed the whole video using a Go Pro Hero 8 which I found to work absolutely amazingly. I cannot fault the Go-Pro Hero 8 at all. I edited the video using iMovie... Something which worked fine, but not I am sure there will be better software out there, it did the job fine though. If you liked the content what a thumbs up and subscribe, im hoping to get out and do some more videos in the near future. Thanks for tuning in!
