Time travel…it's March 5, 1970…the first day of practice for the new F1 season in Kyalami…and after last year's World Champion Jackie Stewart left the Matra team, he's now competing with the team of his old and new team boss Ken Tyrrell…Tyrrell Racing… But as if that weren't sensational enough…the Tyrrell team doesn't even have a car of their own design here in South Africa…they have to rely on March…and nobody really knows them…a factory that was still in Formula 3 last year…their first year in motorsport…and now they're suddenly building the car for the F1 World Champion…and they're even there with their own factory cars… The old hands of F1…Enzo Ferrari, Colin Chapman, and Jack Brabham are amazed…some even laugh at the new team, which not only fields two factory drivers but also actively offers its cars to other teams and privateers… But after this 1970 season, they're laughing. No one else... regardless of whether the March 701 competes as a March or a Tyrrell... they're almost always on the podium... and in the coming years, March will make a name for itself not only as a factory team but even more so as a supplier to various customer teams...
