Larghetto – Allegro assai – Presto Carl Ludwig Drobisch (1803–1854) was a German music theorist and composer of predominantly church music. Since 1837 he was stationed in Augsburg, composing liturgical music for the protestant congregation there. His compositions include four oratorios, cantatas, masses, symphonies and songs. Carl Drobisch's son Eugen Drobisch (1839–1905) was also a composer. You can find a transcription of his first symphony on my channel, as well. SYMPHONY III IN D MAJOR The third symphony by Carl Drobisch was composed between January and 15 June 1847. The work was premiered at Augsburg, Germany, in a concert on 8 April 1849. The concert also featured three other premiere pieces by the composer: An overture in F minor (Op. 38) and the cantatas "An die untergehende Sonne" and "Gewitternacht". I haven't been able to confirm if this symphony has ever been performed since its premiere.
