What Are Submarine Captain Ramius's Soviet Medals?
We look at the medals of The Hunt For Red October's Soviet Captain Marko Ramius as well as his military career during the Cold War. As the commander of the Typhoon Class Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine Ramius had a distinguished career in the Soviet Navy and was awarded medals including The Order of Lenin, Ushakov Medal and Order of Glory. Known as Project 941 the Typhoon was the biggest nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine ever built and designed to counter the U.S. Navy's Ohio Class SSBNs.
