What Were General Patton's Medals?
George S. Patton was a famous military commander in the US Army during WW2. A flamboyant and controversial character, in his career he campaigned on the Pancho Villa Expedition, commanded tanks in WW1, led the famed 2nd Armored Division and later commanded both the 7th Army during the Invasion of Sicily and the 3rd Army in France and Germany. Patton also had a famous rivalry with British General Bernard Montgomery. He was awarded a variety of military and civilian decorations. Note: For the Order of Ouissam Alaouite I used the 1913 - 1934 example. After 1934 two white stripes were added to the ribbon. Patton would have received this updated ribbon version.
