Woodturning - 25% of you will hate this!
This was a weird piece of woodturning. I started out with a block of Myrtlewood that was just going to be a live-edge vase kind of thing. But the nature of the angle at the top was such that when I started hollowing it, it created a very off-center looking hole. I could have continued hollowing it out, and this effect would have disappeared, but it was interesting and I kind of liked it. So, I kept it as a little semi-circle depression and then crafted a wood and resin ball to go into the depression. I used my Carter Perfect Sphere tool to make the ball. Still learning how to use it properly, but this was better than the first time! I figure at least 25% of you will absolutely hate this. Honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about it, but it’s art and art is subjective, right? Anyway, thanks for watching! Visit my etsy store here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/caswoodcraft
