Thirteen-year-old Tejaswi Kumari Jodha became heir to the erstwhile princely estate after a 'pagh ka dastoor' or a turban ceremony that had not taken place in 65 years and, in living memory, had never been performed for a girl. But behind the historic ceremony lies the story of a family choosing to reinterpret tradition instead of abandoning it.
