Dear model railroad friends, In keeping with the current ÖBB turnip campaign, I would also like to have a turnip train for my model railroad. I did a bit of research and came to the conclusion that commercially available couscous (ground durum wheat semolina) would be ideal for replicating it. The irregular shape, color, size... everything fits. I build the base or core for the Piko ÖBB high-board wagons from Styrodur. Provided with 2 screws so that it can be easily removed from the wagon using a magnet. The couscous is glued on and sprinkled with finely sieved earth... It looks very realistic and is actually very easy for you to recreate.
