We buy a ship the silent way - EPISODE 1

Because of a few coments, that they would like to enjoy the pictures and my voice without music ...here we go being German and being told constantly that we don´t have a sense of humor... this is our take ;-) A handshake in Finland — and suddenly we owned a ship. This is how our journey towards the arctic began. 🧭 How it all started: In 2020 we became the new owners of FANNY — a charming vessel from 1974 that we discovered, walked aboard, and bought within just two days in Turku, Finland. In this video we take you back to the beginning: Michael's lifelong dream of living at sea, which existed long before we ever met. Our first meeting in 2017. The birth of our son George in 2018 — and the moment a dream became a real plan. Three years of searching from harbour to harbour across the world. Until the call came: "I've found a ship for you. But you need to move fast." What followed was a journey across Europe, our first sight of a ship far bigger than anything we had imagined — and a decision sealed with a simple handshake over lunch. This is the first part of our story. Our vision: taking guests on expedition voyages to the Arctic, Svalbard and the polar seas — including whale watching, ski & sail adventures, and liveaboard life in one of the most breathtaking regions on Earth. 🔔 Subscribe to follow FANNY's transformation from a 1970s vessel into a full Arctic expedition vessel. ⚓ Chapters 00:20 Michael's dream of the sea 00:58 Meeting in 2017 & Georg's birth 02:51 Three years of searching 04:20 First sight of FANNY in Turku 15:41 The handshake that changed everything 20:48 the crossing to Gdansk 25:30 what comes next 📍 Follow the journey socialmedia: @FANNY_expedition 🎙️ Voiceover in English.
