Description: On Friday, April 21, 1967, the Regime of the Colonels or the Coup d’état finds the filmmaker at his home on Alexandras Avenue. From the window he secretly tries to record what is happening on the boulevard. The house happens to be located across an old police station and as a result he can record all the activities that take place in the neighborhood. The first views show the tanks that are going down on Alexandras Avenue to the center of Athens, while one of them seems to turn right on Panagiotara Street. Then we see patrols by military officers, army troops and police officers with guns in their hands. Extremely important is the recording of a gun shot in the air (0:23) in order to frighten the residents who have climbed onto the rooftops of their apartment buildings. A special document is the invasion of buildings and the arrest of a man who is being taken to the police station. The arrest of the man on the road begins with him receiving blows by the police officers which, however, turn into a severe beating when he passes the entrance of the police station. Towards the end of the film, the man is escorted out of the police station with a revolver pointing at his back. The views continue with images of military officers on the streets patrolling and exploring the area. --- Creator's description: First day of the coup d'etat of 1967.
