My 2 Year Old Cracked His First Egg… Then We Raced a Typhoon Home — Mom Life in Okinawa

A typhoon is on its way tonight 🌀 — so before it hit, we packed the day full: my 2-year-old cracked his very first egg (and nailed it!), we chased giant bubbles in the wind, stocked up on storm supplies, and ended the night making crispy pizzas on gyoza wrappers. 💙 Just an ordinary day before the storm — and somehow, perfect. 📍 Nago, Okinawa, Japan 🍽️ Today's Menu 🥞 Breakfast: Homemade pancakes (cracked by our little chef!) 🍱 Lunch out: Yayoi-ken set meals — fries, tonkatsu & hamburg steak 🍕 Dinner: Crispy mini pizzas on gyoza wrappers 🍕 Tip — 10-Minute Gyoza-Wrapper Pizza: Top a gyoza (dumpling) wrapper with sauce, cheese & anything you like, then bake until crispy. No dough, no rising — the wrappers go thin and crunchy like a cracker crust. Kids love topping their own.
