The final was broadcast in two parts: the dictation in the early afternoon and the results in the early evening. Bernard Rapp introduced some competitors before handing over to Bernard Pivot, who reviewed the rules, read the text a first time, and finally gave the dictation. In addition to the anonymous candidates, many personalities from the worlds of entertainment, literature, and sports attempted this exercise.
