Enjoy the return cab-view journey on the historic Trenino Verde from Tempio Pausania to Luras, travelling through the heart of the Gallura region in northern Sardinia on one of Italy’s most authentic heritage railways. This short but scenic section belongs to the former Sassari–Tempio–Palau narrow-gauge railway, today operated for tourism, where vintage rolling stock from the early 20th century runs along about 11 km of track between granite hills, cork oak forests and rural landscapes that have changed little in over a century. The line, originally built in the late 19th century, is now part of the famous Sardinian Green Train network, preserving traditional railway travel with historic locomotives and classic Breda carriages while offering unique views of the Gallura countryside and small stations such as Nuchis along the way. Filmed entirely from the driver’s cab with natural sound only, this video captures the nostalgic rhythm of the narrow-gauge railway as the train winds gently through tunnels, bridges and rocky cuttings on the way back toward Luras. Unfortunately, the camera shut down shortly before the final stop, so the last minute of the approach to the station is missing — our apologies for that, and thank you for your understanding.
