The eldest daughter of Baek In Young who completed the gayageum sanjo in the lineage of Baek In Young in the style of Yu Dae Bong, Baek Gee Sook is in charge of the body established for the purpose of preserving the sanjo. She has worked with Baek In Young’s students to uphold the musical value and tradition of the sanjo through tribute concerts, production presentations, and student training efforts. ---------- [곡소개 Work Description] 유대봉제 백인영류 가야금산조 GayageumSanjo "in the lineage of Baek In Young in the style of Yu Dae Bong" 1960년대 가장 두각을 나타냈던 유대봉 선생의 가야금 산조 가락을 백인영 선생이 맥을 이어 완성시킨 산조이다. 남도 무속 시나위에 바탕을 두고, 변청으로 갔다가 본청으로 돌아오는 다채로운 음악적 구조와 판소리에서나 들어볼 수 있는 진계면과 경드름이 특징이다. 경드름은 경제라고도 얘기하며 서울, 경기의 음악적 특성으로 간드러지고 살랑거리는 느낌이라고 생각하면 이해하기 쉬울듯하다. 이류에서는 이런 경제 느낌과 남도 느낌의 계면조가 조화롭게 어우러져 있고, 특이한 연주법으로는 본음을 그냥 내기보다는 눌러서 내며, 퉁기는 것보다는 엄지를 많이 쓰기 때문에 음색 자체의 무게가 깊다고 할 수 있다. 자진모리에서는 한갑득류 거문고 가락을 들을 수 있다는 점이 색다르고 전체적으로 남성적인 느낌이나 속소리를 낭창스럽게 표현하여 여성의 섬세함 또한 갖추고 있다. 원래 곡은 50여분이나 이번에는 15분 가량 연주한다. The work is a gayageumsanjo originally crafted by Yu Dae Bong, one of the greatest gayageum players in the 60s, completed by Baek In Young. Based on shaman sinawi styles, the piece features diverse musical structures covering various scales, and the use of jingyemyeon and gyeongdereum typical to pansori works. Gyeongdereum, often called gyeongje, is one of the features of Seoul and Gyeonggi music, which produces seductive atmosphere. The feel of gyeongje and gyemyeonjo reminiscent of Namdo music are harmonized in the piece. Uniquely, many notes are played by pressure and also by thumbs rather than by plucking, which produces deep tone color. In jajinmori, the geomungo melodies of Han Gapdeuk style are heard, and the feminine delicateness is also expressed in the overall masculine work. Although the original version is over 50 minutes long, the piece is performed in a fifteen-minutes-long arranged version for this concert.
