Colour Case Hardening

A video of the process of case colour hardening a shotgun, filmed at A.A.Brown & Sons Gunmakers in 2019. This was filmed on somewhat primitive gear so for forgiveness the production quality compared to modern videos, but it does serve to show an insight into a tradition unmaking process, done in the same way at A.A.Brown & Sons as it has been always. When this was released at the time on their page it was regularly mentioned that the degreasing of the parts to then handle them seemed redundant and although this would be true in some cases, the handler here has a PH of skin that doesn't affect the process, as evident in the results, but if you were to have greasy hands or harmful sweat then gloves would be a good choice.
