How to change the oil and oil filter on a 2010-2015 Mercedes Benz GLK350. Start the engine and let it warm up for 5 to 10 minutes, as this helps the oil heat up and allows it to drain more easily. Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, 8mm socket, 13mm ratchet wrench or 13mm socket and ratchet, 22 mm wrench, small screwdriver. Procedures: Remove front engine cover, remove oil filter housing, remove oil filter and seal with small screwdriver, install the new rubber seal and the new oil filter, ( part # A 276 180 00 09), lubricate seals with oil, screw in filter housing, torque oil filter housing to 25 N.m (newton meter). next step: Remove plastic shielding (8mm bolts x 8), unbolt oil drain bolt (13mm ratchet wrench), allow the oil to drain until it tapers off to a few drops, place new copper ring on drain bolt, install oil drain plug with crush washer, torque oil drain bolt to 30Nm. next step: Fill engine with 6.9 quarts of oil ( Mercedes Benz Genuine Engine Oil, SAE 5W - 40, MB 229,5).
