Adrienne Reiko Iwanaga—NEA National Heritage Fellowship Tribute Video (2025)
Adrienne Reiko Iwanaga (Saratoga, California) carries forward the tradition of Bon Odori, a Japanese community dance rooted in remembrance. During Obon, families gather to honor those who came before them through shared movement. As a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, she guides others through welcoming, graceful steps—ensuring each generation learns not just the dance, but the meaning behind it.
