Our ICF Concrete Roof: Suspended concrete roof using LiteDeck ICF panels for our rooftop deck

Episode 18: After days of rain and delays, David’s crew works hard to prepare and set the LiteDeck ICF forms for the roof. There is a lot of preparation for a concrete rooftop deck, as John soon discovers. LiteDeck ICF panels easily span the 25 foot needed for the lake house. John joins the crew to explain the bracing system that extends from the roof forms all the way to the basement. Once cured, the LiteDeck roofing system will not require any bracing or columns, so open-living concept (even with a heavy concrete roof) can be achieved! Our contractor goes over the LiteDeck forms in detail including how the spans are cut, shipped, and engineered to hold several tons of concrete for the rooftop deck. The rebar placement and bending is discussed and shown.
