The answer is "kidori." Kidori diagrams are blueprints for efficiently cutting wood. They play an important role in ensuring wood is used without waste. While it may seem unspectacular, kidori is an important process for woodcarvers. Since there hadn't been any footage of this process before, I spoke with Mr. Fujisaki and decided to include it. He told me about his struggles, and even after the interview, he told me some secrets he couldn't share. They were incredibly painful and difficult. Mr. Fujisaki has an unexpected hobby that helps him relieve stress. What is it? It's motocross. He says that even when he was young, he enjoyed riding rough mountain roads with his friends.
