Murrow Award — Excellence in Video (2025) • Headliners Foundation Gold Burl Osborne Award (2025) Role: Investigative Photojournalist & Editor A Fatal Fall: The Treysuhr Carter Mystery is an award-winning, multi-platform investigative project examining the death of 14-year-old Treysuhr Carter and the questions surrounding the initial determination of her death. As investigative photojournalist and editor, I played a key role in the visual storytelling and editorial execution of the project, contributing documentary cinematography, interview production, lighting design, field storytelling, and long-form post-production editing. Working alongside KXAN's investigative team, I helped transform extensive public-records research, expert analysis, body camera footage, medical records, and exclusive interviews into a compelling documentary-style narrative. Through cinematic visuals and character-driven storytelling, the project explored discrepancies in the original investigation while elevating the voices of a family seeking answers. The investigation led to significant impact, including an amended autopsy report and the reopening of the case by law enforcement. Distributed across broadcast, digital, social, podcast, and streaming platforms, the project demonstrates the power of investigative journalism and visual storytelling to drive accountability and uncover the truth.
