EP.37: Day 11: Take a campervan to see the train. 🚐 Stop and sleep at the White Bridge, Lamphun. 📺 mitthai voyager 🚐 Visit Kad Kong Ta, Lampang. Lampang Walking Street is located parallel to the Wang River in the alley of the riverside Chinese market. Featuring over 100-year-old buildings, it's considered an economic street with a long history dating back to the reign of King Rama V. Lampang was the commercial center of the North, attracting numerous Chinese, British, and Burmese traders. The buildings and houses are a diverse mix of architecture, blending European, Chinese, and Burmese influences. There's usually a walking street here every Saturday and Sunday, offering a wide variety of food vendors. We visited on Wednesday, so it was quiet and quite a lonely street. Near Kad Kong Ta, there's: 👉🏽 Ratsadaphisek Bridge, also known as the White Bridge, a landmark of Lampang's horse-drawn carriage town. It's 100 years old and boasts a pristine white bridge. Its distinctive four-arched bow-shaped bridge spans the Wang River in the heart of Lampang, becoming a symbol of the city. Built during the reign of King Rama V, it was a contemporary railway bridge that survived World War I and II and survived Allied bombings. It was painted in camouflage. Originally a dilapidated wooden bridge, it was rebuilt in March 1917. Locals call it Khua Si Kong (Four-Arch Bridge), also known as Khua Luang, Khua Yai, or Khua Khao. It is a reinforced concrete bridge that is more durable than its contemporaries and remains in use today. The four pillars, two on each side of the bridgehead, symbolize stability and strength. The red garlands were the national emblem during the reign of King Rama VI. The garlands on the four pillars symbolize the benevolence of King Chulalongkorn. The white rooster at the center of the pillar is the symbol of Lampang. As mentioned, in addition to the horse-drawn carriages and eye-shaped cups, the Ratchada Bridge is another iconic Lampang landmark that visitors must stop to take photos of. 👉🏽 We stopped to sleep at the pink-painted white bridge. It's in Mae Tha District, Lamphun Province. Mae Tha District has subdistricts or villages beginning with the word "Ta," such as Ban Tha Chomphu, Tha Pla Duk, Tha Mueang Luek, Tha Sala, Tha Rong Ruea, and Tha Khum Ngern, etc. The pink-painted white bridge is a popular location for group weddings on Valentine's Day. We came to the pink-painted white bridge to photograph the train crossing the white bridge and to listen to the train's sound. It doesn't matter if we arrive or not. 📷 This place is beautiful and shady, perfect for taking photos. 🍚 There's one restaurant with a variety of menus and drinks available. I like it. It's very homey. I like it that way. 🚌 We stopped to sleep in the free parking lot. There are restrooms and lighting. There are villagers sleeping as guards, making it safe. 🚂 In the evening, the train passes over the White Bridge three times. I waited eagerly, wanting to capture the train passing by in the dark. I could see the lights streaming through the train windows, creating a beautiful square path. History: Construction of the White Bridge began in 1918 and was completed in 1920. Its curved shape, painted white in a Western architectural style, is a unique and challenging historical bridge. It's reinforced concrete. Normally, railway bridges are constructed exclusively of steel, as it can withstand vibrations and is more flexible. However, due to the wartime conditions at the time of construction, steel was unavailable. However, thanks to the excellent calculations and supervision of General Prince Purachatra Jayakarn, Prince of Kamphaeng Phet, the Akarayothin, the White Bridge remains in use today. Today, it has become a popular tourist photo spot and a major check-in point in Lamphun Province. Every February 14th, a ceremony is held where couples register their marriage at the White Bridge. Whether we travel or not, whether we make YouTube or not, the trains keep running like time never stops. Our duty is to enjoy life every day and do what we want to do. So today, let's get going. In this clip, I'm going to say goodbye to you all. See you in the next clip! Bye-bye! Tip: This car has a 120-liter water tank, which is enough for me to shower four times. If I shower twice a day, I can shower for two days, or once a day, I can shower for four days. The wastewater tank is 70 liters. We don't need to store wastewater. Empty it every time before leaving the car, which will make it lighter.
