REPAIR AND MODS In stock original form the 1960’s version of the Gibson Falcon can be thin and bright/harsh sounding. With far less volume than a two 6V6 power tube, 10-12 watt amp is capable of. In the 1960’s versions Gibson added tone shaping components and signal limiting values to several parts of the amp. Values and parts not seen in the earlier better sounding tweed version of the Falcon. In this video I take this amp from lame and uninspiring to play. To one of the best sounding touch sensitive amps I own with amazing Reverb and Tremolo. I demo the amp before and after. As well as showing the circuit modifications. I have to wade through and figure out what mods the previous tech’s and or in some cases factory deviations from the schematic, as Gibson was known to do. So it is a bit of a journey, with a good outcome at the end. These amps are amazing and worth repairing and modifying for sure.
