Master Sergeant Roderick (Roddie) W. Edmonds, U.S. Army receives the Medal of Honor posthumously for his acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty from January 27, 1945, to March 30, 1945, as a prisoner of war in Germany, while assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 422d Infantry Regiment, 106th Infantry Division.
