1.2 Miles of HUMBLE PIE! | Stone Age Trail in Duluth, MN

Stone Age is a 1.2 mile, double-black, hard-as-nails mountain bike trail in Duluth near Ely's Peak. Accessed from the DWP Trail, just west of the tunnel, the trail immediately begins its rocky ascent up punchy climbs and raw terrain, teaching you new four-letter-words along the way. The trail will bring you up to the Northwest Bluff, which is a great setting for a well-earned break, with views of Ely's Peak and soaring Turkey Vultures. Moving on, the trail offers some fantastic slab riding before pointing more in the downhill direction. Steep slab rolls, rocky chutes, drops and chunky pine needle lined single track bring you back down to the DWP in rowdy fashion. Stone Age will test your mettle. To ride it well requires strong fitness, technical climbing skills, and some downhill chops. Or, walk a lot of it and take in some truly great Duluth terrain and scenery! Either way, this is a trail worth checking out!
