Cotswold Way Day 1 - Chipping Campden to Stanton - First Steps on England's Beautiful National Trail

Our adventure on the *102-mile Cotswold Way* begins! After traveling from Heathrow to the beautiful market town of Chipping Campden, it's finally time to shoulder our daypacks and take those first steps toward Bath. Day One taught us some of the biggest lessons. We learned how to follow the Cotswold Way trail markers, mastered opening and closing countless English farm gates, discovered what our bodies were capable of, and quickly found out that walking downhill on slippery, muddy trails in the rain is a skill all its own! Despite the wet weather, the rolling countryside, charming villages, and excitement of finally being on the trail made for an unforgettable first day. If you're planning to walk the Cotswold Way—or simply love hiking, slow travel, and beautiful English countryside—we hope this series helps you prepare and inspires your own adventure. *Today's walk:* Chipping Campden → Stanton *In this video you'll see:* • Our first miles on the Cotswold Way • Beautiful Cotswold countryside • Historic farm gates and footpaths • Rainy, muddy trail conditions • Lessons we learned on our very first day • Our arrival in the picturesque village of Stanton *Watch the full Cotswold Way series:* ( *Planning your own walk?* Check out our Cotswold Way Guide with GPS maps, daily planning tips, and everything we learned along the trail: www.walkingintosixty.com If you enjoy walking, hiking, travel, and discovering beautiful places at a relaxed pace, we'd love to have you along for the journey.
