Hakan Şükür: “Gezi ve 17-25 gibi önemli bir kırılma noktası da şike süreciydi; bunu bizzat yaşadım"

Famous footballer Hakan Şükür was also actively involved in the turbulent political landscape of Turkey during the AKP era: he became an AKP member of parliament in 2011 and resigned on December 16, 2013, when the 17-25 December corruption scandal came to light. He ran as an independent candidate in the 2015 elections but was unsuccessful. Due to his political choices, he faced harsh measures from the Erdoğan regime (such as the confiscation of his assets).
