The squid is characterised by its long, slender body and triangular shaped fleshy fins, and is commonly found in dishes such as stir fried squid. The second type is octopus, is characterised by its ovoid body and eight arms of approximately equal length, and is commonly served in dishes such as cold octopus salad and octopus stew.
