Legacy SADF Stanley F Botten 1 Life
We speak to Stanley F Botten who was the second in command of 2 Recce Regiment as well as a Hunter Group officer. It was from the Hunter Group that the idea to create South African Special Forces started. Only two of them are still alive, Col Botten, age 82, is one of them. He was also the SO1 for Ops Firewood, 1987, giving us valuable insight into what happened at higher command. Col Botten also wrote several books which will be discussed on Legacy Books in the future – links for the books are attached below. A fascinating conversation indeed. If you have questions for the colonel, please leave them below. Subscribe and activate the bell to be informed of new episodes.
