1960 Jaguar Mk 2 2.4L Automatic
SOLD The Jaguar Mark 2 launched in October 1959 addressed many of the shortcomings of earlier Jaguar models in particular handling at higher speeds. A redesigned instrument panel, still in the traditional rich timber veneer had a much improved layout and slimmer pillars made visibility better. The MK 2 was the fastest four-door car available on the market and with disc brakes standard the car achieved great success in touring car racing all over the world. This particular Australian delivered example presents in Cotswold Blue with Grey interior trim just as it left the factory and original matching numbers engine. Built on the 29th June 1960 the car has desirable early features such as soft close recessed sun visors, black painted centre dash area and 60lb oil pressure gauge. No model epitomizes the Jaguar slogan of "Grace, pace and space" better than the Mark 2 and is an eminently useable classic today.
