Who Pays for AIDS? is a 60-minute PBS FRONTLINE documentary produced by Martin Smith that originally aired on television on June 7, 1988, and was subsequently distributed on VHS. The investigative film examines the severe financial, systemic, and human toll of the HIV/AIDS epidemic during the late 1980s. At the time of production, the broadcast projected that the annual cost of U.S. healthcare for AIDS patients would balloon up to $22 billion by 1991.
