Ergonomic Mice & Keyboards

UPDATE see my current recommendations at: Mice (Top 3) https://ocdevel.com/ergo/mice Keyboards (Top 3) https://ocdevel.com/ergo/keyboards In this video I cover ergonomic mice and keyboards to prevent Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). Prolonged use of standard mice and keyboards, especially in a pronated position (hand parallel to the surface), is terrible for your wrists. Ergonomic Mice Vertical mice like the Proto Arc offer a 45-degree angle to reduce pronation, but they don't fully solve wrist, elbow, or shoulder RSI, and the thumb button placement can strain your thumb joint. Thumb ball mice like the Logitech MX Ergo eliminate wrist movement but shift the strain to your thumb, and they're less precise. Finger ball mice are my preferred category. Examples include the Kensington Orbit Fusion, Deft Pro, and Elecom Huge. They use your index and middle fingers, which are less vulnerable to strain and more precise than your thumb. The Kensington Slimblade Pro is my top recommendation for an endgame ergonomic mouse. It has large, easy-to-press buttons, an intuitive scroll ball, and offers wired, USB Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. For travel, I recommend the Elecom Bitra, a tiny finger-ball mouse that's more ergonomic than a trackpad. I strongly advise against the Bluetooth version due to poor accuracy. Ergonomic Keyboards Split keyboards let you position the halves to match your shoulder width, preventing wrist deviation and promoting a more natural arm position. Tenting (angling the keyboard halves upward) helps maintain a healthy wrist angle. The Mistel Barocco MD770 is a solid budget option, though it needs separate tenting mods. More advanced ergonomic keyboards like the Glove80 feature a key well (keys dipped inward) for better finger comfort and a thumb cluster to reduce strong finger reaches. My top keyboard picks are the Glove80 for its advanced features and the Mistel Barocco MD770 as a budget-friendly choice. Other great options include the ZSA Voyager, Moonlander, Ergodox EZ, Dygma Raise, Defy, and Kinesis Advantage 360. I personally healed my RSI completely by switching to a left-handed finger-ball mouse (Kensington Slimblade). #ergonomicmouse #ergonomickeyboard #RSI #trackball #carpaltunnel
