Tesla Unsupervised Robotaxi Miami Field Report

Grayson Brulte and ‪@DavidMossAI‬ went on location to Miami to ride in Tesla Unsupervised Robotaxis, uncovering a couple dozen Cybercabs staged on the fringe of Miami International Airport, three miles from Waymo's depot still under construction. The robotaxi ride was the smoothest across the Austin, Houston and Miami markets. Robotaxi pulled over for an ambulance and rolled through flooded streets at eight miles per hour without hesitation. 📄 Read the Full Field Report: https://www.roadtoautonomy.com/tesla-... 📄 Follow Tesla on The Road to Autonomy Indices: https://indices.roadtoautonomy.com/ro... --------------------------- Grayson Brulte and David Moss went on location to Miami to ride in Tesla Unsupervised Robotaxis and inspect the staging infrastructure, uncovering signals that Tesla is preparing to expand the service area and ramp up the Miami market. We were on the ground for launch day and secured our first ride at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, the third market where we have ridden in an unsupervised Robotaxi after Austin and Houston. Based on license plate counts, only two Robotaxis were in service on launch day, operating across a suburban area stretching from Coral Gables to Doral in the northwest. The limited fleet produced repeated high demand waits and several cancellations, one of which we believe was caused by a lightning storm. Two days after launch we visited a staging lot on the fringe of Miami International Airport. We counted a couple dozen Cybercabs, all bearing Florida plates, alongside roughly a dozen Model Y Robotaxis. The lot sits roughly two miles from the main airport entrance and three miles from Waymo's airport depot still under construction, a proximity to a direct competitor that did not feel like a coincidence. The ride itself was the smoothest we have experienced across the three markets. The Robotaxi pulled to the right lane and came to a complete stop for an approaching ambulance, and drove through two deeply flooded stretches of road at a steady eight miles per hour without hesitation. --------------------------- Episode Chapters 0:00 Robotaxi Miami Launch Day 01:56 Smoother Than Houston 02:11 The Roundabout Pattern, Robotaxi and Waymo 03:29 Yielding to the Ambulance 04:24 Day Two with David Moss 04:58 The Staging Lot with Dozens of Cybercabs 09:56 Lost and Found 13:28 Avoiding The Unprotected Left 15:06 The Bark Standoff, Four Minutes and 45 Seconds 16:41 Flooded Streets 18:55 AUTNMY AI --------------------------- ► Subscribe    / @roadtoautonomy   -------- About The Road to Autonomy The Road to Autonomy is the leading market intelligence platform covering the convergence of automation, autonomy, and the Autonomy Economy™.
