English version:    • 〔Jun 16〕Regular Press Conference：Minister ...   = The IAEA plays an indispensable role in ensuring nuclear non-proliferation and promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy, which are crucial pillars of the NPT. Japan places great importance on the IAEA's efforts to maintain and strengthen the NPT regime. Taking advantage of Director General Grossi's visit to Japan, I plan to hold talks with him and would like to thoroughly discuss strengthening cooperation between Japan and the IAEA toward maintaining and strengthening the NPT regime, confirming the safety of releasing ALPS treated water into the ocean, and confirming close cooperation. Also, since this is a good opportunity, I would like to exchange views on the situation in Iran. That's all from me. ＝＝＝＝＝＝ ◯ US-Iran Agreement [Kyodo News, Onda] I would like to ask about the situation in Iran. A senior US government official told reporters on the 15th that both the United States and Iran have already signed a memorandum of understanding toward ending hostilities. The Minister received a direct explanation of the agreement through telephone conversations with Iran and other countries yesterday. I would like to ask for your assessment of the agreement at this point and your expectations for future discussions on the nuclear issue. I would also like to ask for your view on the necessity of dispatching Self-Defense Force vessels for mine clearance in the Strait of Hormuz, and the current status of consideration. [Foreign Minister Motegi] Immediately following yesterday's agreement between the US and Iran, I held telephone conversations with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar, who played a central role in mediating the agreement, as well as Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi, and just now, Israel's Foreign Minister Saal. In each of these conversations—specifically with Pakistan and Iran—they provided detailed explanations regarding the circumstances leading to the agreement, as well as the outlook for future discussions between the US and Iran. I highly appreciate the diplomatic efforts of the countries involved to date and confirmed that we will continue to cooperate closely and communicate to ensure that a final agreement on Iran's nuclear issue is reached as soon as possible. Going forward, after a final agreement is reached, Japan intends to play as much role as possible towards peace and stability throughout the Middle East region, and furthermore, towards the region's recovery and reconstruction. On the other hand, at this point, the needs for recovery and reconstruction, and their scale, are still unclear.
