Behind the scenes of Kunqu opera | The Peony Pavilion | From makeup to performance

From Kunshan to Suzhou, I have watched multiple Kunqu plays, but today I am going for a very special one. This is a youth version of a classical Kunqu opera, The peony Pavilion. The performers are all in their early 20s, even younger than me. And they want to attract the young audience back to this classical art form. Join me to explore about this oldest extant form of Chinese opera. The makeup, the music, the costume, the lyrics, the singing, and most importantly...the young artists who inherit and develop this art.
