Nolan Wells' Friend Did WHAT During the Investigation?!
One of Nolan Wells' friends went on Good Morning America with his voice altered because of threats. Then he sat down with Rolling Stone and told his version of what happened on Horn Island. The investigation was still active. Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis asks the question nobody else is asking: if you're innocent and you want the truth to come out, is a national media tour during an open investigation what a reasonable person does — or does it make everything worse? All three friends have attorneys. The sheriff says they've been cooperative. Ben Crump says the family doesn't actually know what that cooperation looks like. And there's a detail Crump flagged that changes the temperature of everything: the friends didn't voluntarily tell investigators they had Nolan's phone and keys. The family tracked the phone using Life360 and went to recover it themselves. A former prosecutor walks through what a reasonable, innocent person does when a dead friend's belongings are in their possession. Faddis also addresses the family's parallel investigation — private forensics, their own autopsy, fifty to a hundred witness calls a day — and whether running a full shadow operation helps or hurts. Plus the roughly two hundred people on Horn Island that day who may have footage they haven't turned over, and the Lauren Agee precedent where friends invoked the Fifth in civil depositions after no criminal charges were filed. Tony Brueski, Robin, and Eric Faddis break it all down.
