How Many Ports of Super Mario Bros. (1985) Exist? - Super Mario Bros. Release History

There are few video games as well known and beloved as Super Mario Bros. Not only did it change the history of video games forever, it spawned the entire Super Mario franchise that is still going strong to this day. As one of the most popular and important games of all time, it's also one of the most rereleased. Since its release in 1985, the game has been available on countless devices, officially and unofficially. Today, we'll be taking a look at them! Super Mario Bros. has been released and remade no fewer than 30 times including releases for the NES, the Famicom Disk System, PCs, the GameBoy Color/Advance, the Wii, and more! It's also seen various retoolings such as one based off of a Japanese radio show and some arcade editions as well! Along with that, there are even many bootleg and unlicensed ports of the game, such as Sonic Jam 6 for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive!
