"Marmalade" Japanese Maple Growth Rate

My observations on the vigor and growth habit of Acer palmatum "Marmalade", an outstanding new Japanese Maple cultivar. I purchased this tree as a one gallon at a Mr. Maple open house event. It was planted in the late fall after leaf drop in my Japanese garden in Statesboro, Georgia. The spot that it is in gets a couple hours of direct morning sun, followed by periods of full shade or dappled shade in the afternoon. This is it's first year in the ground.
