Daitarn 3 '78, Super Robot Blueprint

The lovely Beauty, the adventurous Reika, and the famous Haran Banjo join up to fight the invading Meganoids in a charming and humorous monster-of-the-week affair. Yet this story of a cheerful throuple fighting against mind-controlled-and-loving-it cyborgs is not always so lighthearted, as the heroic Banjo nurses a spiteful grudge and the Meganoid's cartoonish maliciousness hides a genuine injustice. 1978's Daitarn 3 was the sixth robot show produced by Sunrise, but only the second in which they maintained full ownership of the intellectual property. It was a considerable marketing success that paved that afforded its crew considerable latitude going forward. The crew doesn't know why Toppo is in this show, either.
