Avanti West Coast - London to Chester - 4th September, 2024

This is a ride on a brand new Avanti West Coast Class 805 BMU (bi-mode multiple unit) with a service on the West Coast Mainline from London Euston to Chester. This service departs from London's Euston station at 1202, taking approximately 125 minutes to reach Chester station. Calling points are Stafford, Crewe, and Chester. This train is formed of five carriages. It operates under the 25kV AC overhead wires as far as Crewe, where the pantographs are lowered, and the onboard diesel engine propels the train to Chester. These new BMUs are replacements for the Class 221 Voyager trains, which previously operated this particular service.
