Because Stuttgart 21 is much more than just a train station, and DB Projekt Stuttgart–Ulm GmbH is much more than Stuttgart 21. The project company is realizing the complete reorganization of the Stuttgart rail hub with four new stations, 56 kilometers of tunnels, and 42 bridges. As a pioneer in the digitalization of rail transport throughout Germany, the team at DB Projekt Stuttgart–Ulm GmbH is driving the Stuttgart Digital Hub pilot project forward. With other future-oriented projects, such as the Pfaffensteig Tunnel, PSU is preparing southwest Germany for the Deutschlandtakt (Germany-wide integrated timetable). Stuttgart 21 is the complete reorganization of the Stuttgart rail hub. This joint project was agreed upon in 2009 with a financing agreement between the German Federal Government, the State of Baden-Württemberg, the City of Stuttgart, the Stuttgart Region Association, Stuttgart Airport GmbH, and Deutsche Bahn.
